Polidori Sausage Marks 100 Years of Savory Moments
America’s Oldest Family-owned Sausage Company Celebrates a Century of Flavor
DENVER, February 19, 2025 – Polidori Sausage, America’s oldest, family-owned sausage company, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year by continuing its tradition of bringing families and friends together to share great food made with simple, high-quality ingredients. The occasion marks a renewed focus on creating joyful moments around food while reinforcing responsible sustainability practices for generations to come.
“I feel a little emotional when I think about what Polidori has accomplished in the last 100 years,” said Melodie Polidori Harris, chief sausage officer at Polidori Sausage. “We’ve never wavered on why we do this. We’re in the business of bringing people together through food. Whether you are sharing a sausage at a sporting event or buying from the grocery store, we are driven to play a part in creating these priceless moments.”
A Legacy of Resilience
From its humble beginnings in 1925, Italian immigrants Anna and Rocco Polidori opened a small grocery and butcher shop in Denver. Anna handmade and ground every batch of sausage with simple, high-quality ingredients and spices. Now, with five generations working in the business, Polidori has successfully grown into one of the top sausage companies in the country, despite having weathered historic events, including the Great Depression, World War II, the Internet revolution and the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our family has only grown stronger with every challenge we’ve faced,” said Steve Polidori, president of Polidori Sausage. “When it’s your family’s legacy on the line, the pressure is intense—you don’t want to be the one to let down the generations before you.”
A Century of People, Partners, and Place
Polidori acknowledges that the company wouldn’t be where it is today without the dedication of its employees, partners and Colorado. Throughout 2025, the company will celebrate its long-standing relationships with employees and partners, including manufacturers, distributors, drivers and customers.
In celebration of the milestone, the company created a custom 100th-anniversary logo for its packaging and is launching a special “Century of Flavor” campaign that recognizes the contributions of employees, partners and customers who have been instrumental to its success.
Polidori will debut an exclusive cheddar jalapeño bratwurst and two new anniversary-themed concession carts at Colorado Rockies Opening Day on April 4. All season long Rockies fans will be able to get their favorite sausages at the games.
The company will continue its century celebration with “The Official Sausage of Summer” campaign designed to spotlight Polidori as Colorado’s favorite sausage for summer cookouts and gatherings.
The Next 100 Years
As Polidori celebrates this major milestone, the company is focused on the future. The next chapter will be defined by increasing its national footprint responsibly to non-traditional channels, expanding its grocery presence and a continued commitment to excellence.
“As long as we stay true to our values, the next century is full of opportunity,” said Harris.
“This business comes with challenges, but our employees, partners and customers make it worth it. The stories of the family celebrating special moments over incredible meals that keep us carrying on.”
